CARE + RESPONSIBILITY

One night after work, the child’s father was walking to a nearby store with his cousin, when a truck, driving in the opposite direction, swerved into their lane and headed right toward them.

Our client’s father heroically shoved his cousin out of harm’s way before being hit by the truck. The Defendant, driving under the influence of drugs and alcohol, had lost control of his truck and had no clear memory of the crash.

Aaron Broussard, partner at Broussard Injury Lawyers, handled the case. Aaron has vast experience handling punitive damage claims. He has obtained verdicts and settlements of over 30 million in punitive damage cases in the last 5 years alone.

Broussard Injury Lawyers obtained a judgment of over $5 million for this young child who lost her father. Aaron proved the Defendant’s intoxication and reckless conduct caused the death of a hard-working, responsible father.

Because we proved intoxication played a part in the crash, the Court was able to assess punitive damages to punish the driver for endangering the public by driving intoxicated.

“We did what we could for this family, but nothing can ever bring this man back, nothing can replace the loss of a father.”
